Being in a cage with 142 rats.

Fast paced, funny, character driven, plot motivated, emotional comedy drama.

5. Tell us five positive words that describe you as a writer.
Imaginative. Laugh out loud. Humanistic.

6. What book character would you be, and why?
Jo from The Faraway Tree series by Enid Blyton. The series of three books entirely shaped my imagination as a kid. I’m still travelling the world looking for strange lands.

7. If you could time travel, what year would you go to and why?
1967. Swinging London. I’m fascinated by the Sixties with its great fashion and incredible music. I would love to have hung out with Jimmi Hendrix.

You’re going to have an amazing life. Learn to trust yourself.

My Mum. She’s smart, loving, funny and loves an adventure.

My first short story won a prize at High School. I didn’t ever set out to be a writer, although I wrote plays, songs and press releases when I worked in the music industry. Then I got job on New Woman magazine in London. I worked my way up from PA to senior writer.

11. What is your favourite word and why?
Apparently. Apparently.

12. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be?
My favourite ever book is Brave New World by Aldous Huxley. The parallels to today are striking.
