Review: Bear and Hare Go Fishing

It's always such a joy to explore a new Emily Gravett book. Ever creative, simple, evocative and beautifully-rendered, her tales achieve that fine balance when it comes to readership age.

Anyone would love this book. Babies, toddlers, big kids, adults.

Bear and Hare go fishing. Bear does the fishing, Hare does the fussing. Then a gorgeously surprising ending wraps things up.

Simple story, simple illustrations, yes, but the emotion and character contained in the heavenly brushstrokes of both these adorable friends is so rich and rewarding ... it's what Emily Gravett does best.

Luscious, creamy pages, divine paintings, a cutout cover, high-quality production values and a story to warm the heart, make this small, 12-page picture book feel enormous. A must for picture book collectors.
