contributors

Following is a line-up of current, regular contributors to Kids Book Review. We hope you enjoy their contributions - and keep checking back for more!

Catherine Pelosi is a Sydney-based communications professional and casual youth worker. Her love for children’s literature began with Rolad Dahl’s magical books and watching the Princess Bride on loop as a child. A true adventure-seeker, she has lived and travelled abroad, visiting the far corners of Iceland to the sleepy beaches of Fiji. She is also an aspiring junior fiction and picture book author.

Bree Sherd is a preschool teacher and mother of a very cheeky two-year-old boy. She has always had a passion for books and creative writing, and as a teacher, she encourages children to foster a love and care for books. Through literature, her ambition is to develop literate little beings and equip those children with the skills to come into their own for a journey of life-long learning. Her favourite children’s authors include Pamela Allen and Roald Dahl.

Rebecka Sharpe Shelberg is working towards being a great many things; a top notch Mum, a published picture book author, a qualified librarian and a Time Lord. She has worked in both a bookstore and publishing environment, which has happily lead her to discover a strong fascination and delight in picture books. She will soon need to buy a bigger house to accommodate her book obsession passion. Rebecka admires Shaun Tan, John Marsden, Melina Marchetta and Polly Dunbar and hopes one day to be reviewed on KBR.

Leanne Barrett is a mother of a teenage boy, is a teacher librarian, art lover, landcarer, and volunteer. She developed a passion for picture books - especially illustrations - during her university years which she shares with her students, son and friends. When choosing books she is always looking for something new or different. She writes reviews for Reading Time and is the Author/Illustrator Visits Coordinator for the CBCA ACT branch.

Anastasia Gonis has been reviewing books for over twenty years. Her reviews and interviews have appeared in Bookseller & Publisher, Good Reading magazine, Australian Book Review, The Age, The Herald Sun, AllWrite, and many other publications. Anastasia currently writes articles and reviews, and is the Interviewer for Buzz Words. She loves all books, in particular children’s books which for her, contain beauty and joy between the covers.
