Review: Technicolour Treasure Hunt and Pattern-Tastic Treasure Hunt

Hello, visual feast! Kids won't be the only enchanted by this beautiful duo of books by a truly talented team of two illustrators, who deeply understand colour and whimsy and the importance of aligning imagery with tots whilst still retaining style.

Both of these Treasure Hunt books are printed on study board-book pages, with coloured and patterned tabs down the right-hand side. In Technicolour, the tab colours align with double-page spreads in the appropriate colour, featuring a series of beautifully-drawn objects. In Pattern-Tastic, the tab prints align with a series of animals, plants and other objects that resonate with said pattern, from spiky to speckled and wavy.

I love the nuance contained in these books, as much as I love the design elements that still align beautifully with the toddler and early education focus. Wonderful stuff.

This is Concept Books Gone Cool.
