Review: Is My Child ready for School?

The start of school is an important and nerve-racking time for all families.

We worry our kids don’t know the things we think they should know before starting school.

We worry our kids won’t have fun or make friends.

We worry our kids will struggle.

If this resonates, Is My Child Ready For School? will provide useful information to alleviate your fears and help you decide the best time for your child to begin their school adventure.

But I wouldn’t say this book is just for families with children close to school age.

What I liked about this book is that it includes ideas for games and activities that will help your kids get ready for school well before they reach school age, making it a great book for all families with young kids.

The content of the book is also very comprehensive. It covers numeracy, literacy, physical development, social development and more. There are chapters that deal with selecting a school and chapters about supporting your child through the first year.

There are a few typos throughout the book, but they don’t detract from the usefulness of the information within. If you’ve ever wondered if your child is (or is going to be) ready for school, you will find this book informative and helpful.
