define every sound. The origin of every bodily noise is covered and reinforced
by the brilliant illustrations of Colin Rowe.
Others of the same age communicate very well with
grandpa for they speak the same language. Whether he’s drinking a cup of tea,
or bending his knees to sit in a chair, sound is heard.
This is the funniest most entertaining book I have
seen in ages! I thought at first that there was an invisible narrator sharing
their story. Then I realised it must be the ginger cat that appears on every page.
How purrrfect!
I loved this book. I have experienced older people
throughout my life and many are similar to grandpa. Years ago, I heard this
quote: I am where he was and I’m going to
where he now is. But that thought doesn’t stop me from laughing as hard as
I can!
The colourful end pages are plastered with more
words or rather letters depicting sounds. They are fantastic! The illustrations
tell their own story through the dynamic facial expressions, body language,
actions, and hand movements.
This is one not to be missed.
