Review: Baby's Busy World

DK Publishing is well known for producing high quality, educational books for children, and using bright, vivid photography in lieu of illustrations.
Baby’s Busy World is no exception. This book takes us through the day of a baby or toddler, and it involves all the aspects of a book that little ones love. Facial expressions, animals, vehicles, food, bathtime and bedtime are all looked at with beautiful photographs and colourful, visually appealing pages.

It is a book that shows us how busy and exciting a baby’s world really is.

Other features of the book include an opportunity for a game of peekaboo, plenty of giggles, matching pictures with vocabulary and, with the use of plenty of strong colours, a chance to encourage children to learn colours.

The photographs of babies all through the book are a big hit with children. They see different facial expressions, babies moving, being bathed, getting dressed and sleeping, learning about themselves as they go – all in a fun way that they can relate to.

This big board book is a well-worn favourite in this house. I bought it when my daughter was a baby and we have looked at it together most days since. Now, as a toddler, she still loves it, especially as she can now tell me what most of the pictures are, rather than pointing and listening.
