Review: Princess Cupcakes

The term  ‘princess’ tends to get too much of an overworking, in my humble opinion – yet this sweet little cookbook uses this descriptive without the schmaltz.

And, frankly, if little pink stars and crowns will encourage little girls to whip up a cupcake storm in the kitchen… who am I to complain?

Packaged in a gift box containing a dozen pink silicone patty pans, Princess Cupcakes features beautifully styled and photographed cupcake recipes that would appeal to both mini princesses, and grown ones (and maybe even the odd queen).

With such delectable creations as Magic Wand, Very Cherry, Rose Delight, Chocolate Charm and Marshmallow cupcakes, this book will have kids rattling the baking trays.

Whilst a basic vanilla cupcake recipe is provided, the book features several extra recipes that use interesting ingredients, such as muscovado sugar, Turkish delight and butternut squash.

Sophistication in a little pink book, also included are toppings and fillings, how to use the silicon moulds, an equipment list and tips on baking with children.
