Having just read Grimsdon by Deborah Abela I have to agree with you on what a wonderful book it is. I have to admit when I first heard it was about an environmental disaster I half-expected to be bashed around the head with 'a message'. Grimsdon does get its message across but does so in the most eloquent and fascinating way. It is a book I can truly recommend.
ReplyDeleteThanks also for all the other winners, some of which I have not read but will certainly do so now.
How very brave of you to actually choose some from the so many!
ReplyDeleteThe amazing thing is, you also managed to pick the book chosen for National Simultaneous Storytime as your favourite book of the year. I am yet to read/review it. But I love Rod Clement's books so have much anticipation.
It was so hard to choose the winners! And of course, Megan and I had differing opinions in several categories, but being the fab partners we are, talked it through!
ReplyDeleteOf course, this is so cliche, but they are all winners. Such an amazing line up of books and this was so much fun to do.
