Review: Apple Pie ABC

Oh joy! I absolutely adore this gorgeous book - for reasons I could truly list from A to Z. Of course, the immediate charm is in the divinely retro-inspired illustrations, using whimsical colours and patterns.

The second thing is that adorable dog who simply cannot resist a nibble at a freshly backed apple pie - ABC style.

The third thing is the simple yet creatively-driven text. Taking leave from the traditional alphabet style book where we are treated to an image per letter, Reynolds has woven the alphabet into a storyline instead.

When that little dog smells that Apple pie Baking in the oven, he sits patiently for it to Cool and most calmly while his little girl owner Dishes it out. Oh yes, he is most Eager for it. But little girl owners know little dogs should not eat apple pie.

Will that stop our keen little friend from snaffling a bite?

This is just the most adorable, funny and whimsical picture book. The type that will make you memorise the name Alison Murray and seek out each and every totally collectible book she creates.

Gorgeous.

Make sure you check out the cute website linked to the book, too.
