ebook Review: Dr Seuss's ABC

I can still, to this day, recite from Dr Seuss's ABC. Mine was in the hardback paper version and three decades after reading the book myself, I was suddenly buying it for my own kids in board book form.

And now - here it is - the ebook form of this amazing children's classic.

Big A, little a - what begins with A?

Staying true to the essence of this classic book, images and text share the screen. Sweet music and simple sound effects, children can touch letters and words for repetition, or tap on characters for more audio elaboration.

There are no extra special effects in this app, allowing kids to focus on text and images. I like how the background music to the book eventually dies down, allowing children to concentrate on reading.

Kids can either have the book read to them, read it themselves or run it on auto play. An option to return to the menu, resume or start over is provided.

Dr Seuss's ABC is produced by Oceanhouse Media and is available on iTunes for AU$4.99.
