Review: I Love You, Father Christmas

Oh, I still remember by childhood in Tassie when we called Santa 'Father Christmas'. Those days are long lost, but the magic of this jolly man in red stays the same, no matter what modern children call him.

Another book in the wonderful pairing that is Andreae/Dodd, I Love You, Father Christmas features Dodd's beautifully charming illustrations and Andreae's equally charming text that resonates so beautifully with young ones.

Written in rhyming text, the story follows a young tot and his lead-up to Christmas day, with such delights as fruit mince pies, get-togethers with friends, walking in the snow, and of course the delicious anticipation of Christmas Eve.

A lovely book for Northern Hemisphere residents, and for those who love a traditional white festive season. The book is also available in hard cover and as a board book.
