Review: Banjo the Hot Cross Bun

Just when is the right time for hot cross buns to appear on the shelves?

Is Boxing Day too early?

Banjo the Hot Cross Bun certainly arrives in store on Boxing Day, and it causes something of a stir.

Even Banjo is outraged. He feels it’s way too early to be on sale. Hot cross buns are for Easter!

Banjo throws a tantrum and causes chaos in the bakery.

Through the fruit and vegetables, chocolates and lollies, Banjo is intent on making a mess.

He’s decided to target the Christmas tree.

Unfortunately, in the process he's faced with a bunch of other hot cross buns who argue that they’re so good to eat they should be available for much longer.

It’s an argument that convinces Banjo.

Banjo the Hot Cross Bun is told in rhyming text, written by Rory H Mather, and brought to life with bright pictures by Christopher Nielsen.

Whether you prefer your hot cross buns hot with butter, or slathered with something sweet, you can also enjoy them by grabbing a copy of Banjo the Hot Cross Bun!
