Review: Hunwick’s Egg

Hunwick’s Egg is a heart-warming story about a little old bilby named Hunwick who lives on the edge of an Australian desert. One day after a terrible, terrible storm where '(t)he world was tossed inside out and upside down', Hunwick stumbles across an egg. After no-one claims it as their own, Hunwick nudges it into his burrow and decides to take care of it himself.

Review: Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley

Pearl Barley and Charlie Parsley are the best of friends, but couldn’t be more different if they tried. While Pearl Barley is loud and boisterous and talkative, Charlie Parsley is quiet and shy and likes to sit and ponder. While Pearl likes to take risks and solve mysteries, Charlie likes to take baths and watch his garden grow.

They are opposite in almost every way, but these differences help them to appreciate and look after each other.

Review: Nightlights

My 6-year-old girl has trouble getting to sleep at night sometimes. She’s one of those children who can carry the weight of the world on her shoulders. A bit of an old soul. I get the feeling she’s been around the block before.

So, often at night, she lies there and contemplates the big things and has a little trouble relaxing and falling asleep. Now, when that happens, we pick up our copy of Nightlights and it makes bedtime just that little bit easier.
