Review: What Colour is your World?

First published in 1962, this gorgeous children's classic has had a timeless reprinting thanks to the fabulous people at Phaidon, who have a penchant for doing such things (grateful!).

With a vibrant red cover and dust jacket, this beautiful book looks at the world of colour through the eyes of a variety of different people. How does a gardener see the world? Green, of course, What about a beachcomber? Yellow! And a king? the most pompous purple.

But what about an artist? An artist can see all the colours in the world and see their potential to become more. He might see a green king or an orange ocean or a blue cabbage.

With lovely big font and glorious ink illustrations splashed in luridly spectacular colour, this is an absolute must-have book for anyone who adores children's books (particularly vintage book lovers) - and anyone who adores delighting children. I love it.

What colour is your world?
