Review: Gladiator: Fight for Freedom

A great new adventure series for boys is always a welcome addition to bookshelves – and this is no exception.

This first installment in a new series is set to have readers’ eyes glued to the page.

Forced from his home, his father murdered and his mother kidnapped and taken as a slave, Marcus is left alone at the age of ten and must fight for survival. He must escape a life of slavery, endure traitors and enemies, and learn to find the utmost strength to live through it all.

He needs to stay true to himself and his family as he fights his way to freedom.

Ending as a gladiator, Marcus’s path to manhood has only just begun.

This is a gripping tale of life in ancient Rome, with one young boy forced to achieve the impossible in order to survive.

Readers won’t be able to put the book down, taken in by its fast pace, non-stop adventure and constant suspense. This is the beginning of a top quality series that young men – and women – won’t want to miss.

As for waiting for the second book in the series – we can only hope it won’t be too long.
