Review: Whirligigs

If there's one thing that ensures a baby's interest in books, it's giving them a chance to be hands-on with them.

The Whirligig books, which include these two titles among others (see the Child's Play website for more details), are the perfect answer for this curiosity of our little ones.

Each book contains page after page of illustrated characters, toys, animals and objects that twist and turn, move up and down and back and forth. The simple statements underneath each mechanism explain what is happening: "Spin the ball, fast then slow", for example.

Young hands will be delighted with the activities and motion, and young eyes will devour the colours and straightforward lines of the illustrations.
