Review: Superworm

Superworm is super-long.
Superworm is super-strong.
Watch him wiggle! See him squirm!
Hip, hip, hooray for SUPERWORM!

Meet Superworm, the kind of friend everyone needs. All the garden residents know that they can rely on Superworm to help out in times of trouble or to join in the fun when there are games to play. Everyone loves Superworm.

Well, not quite everyone. Wizard Lizard isn’t interested in being Superworm’s friend. He’d much prefer to make him dig to find treasures. Now it’s Superworm who is in trouble. Will the other garden animals and insects be able to rescue him?

From the creators of the classic children’s story The Gruffalo, Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Superworm is a story about friendship and looking out for each other. The garden creatures work together to save their friend when mean Wizard Lizard holds him prisoner, having some fun along the way as they thwart Lizard’s plans.

With an enjoyable rhyming verse story and an array of friendly-looking insects and other backyard critters, Superworm is a fun story for young children. A Superworm colouring sheet is available from the Scholastic UK website.
