Review: Love is in the Air

Love is in the Air!

You’ll feel all warm and fuzzy as you read the lyrics of the classic song Love is in the Air accompanied by wonderfully warm and gorgeous illustrations by Shane Devries.

Written by Harry Vanda and George Young, the lyrics of this song bring the voice of Australian singer John Paul Young (JPY) clearly to mind. In fact, it was impossible to read through the book without hearing JPY’s voice in my head and bopping along just a little. OK, a lot.

For those not familiar with the song, there is an accompanying single track CD of John Paul Young's original 1978 recording of Love is in the Air. Even without the sound track playing in your head, the lyrics and lovely illustrations will have you smiling as the little polar bear searches for that special someone he can offer his heart to (his mother, of course).

This book would be a beautiful gift for a family with young kids. It’s a wonderful book to snuggle together and read or use it as an excuse to twirl about the lounge room with your children singing Love is in the Air
