Review: The Lost Voice of the Grand Final (Sleuth Astrid #2)

Astrid’s many sleuthing talents are again called upon when Carrot the Parrot, coach of the Birds team, loses his voice. A lost voice is a hard thing to find but Astrid excels at finding lost things.

There are those who are glad of some quiet time from the over-talkative coach. As Astrid checks the Lost Property and follows leads in her search to find the coach’s lost voice before the start of the Grand Final, the reader can also search in the pictures for lettered clues to solve the mystery in an interactive way.

Repetition is used as a thread to connect the reader with the previous story. Familiar sentences and phrases appear to activate a recollection of the previous book’s contents. This is an excellent learning tool as well as a clever device. This series will entice reluctant readers due the interaction, the quirky abilities of the main character, and the incredible antics of the secondary characters.

Lost Voice of the Grand Final is available as a downloadable ePUB file from Hazel Edwards online.
