Review: Monster Truck Mountain Rescue

Mouse is readying his monster vehicle for the monster truck rally--and what an impressive specimen it is. What giant tyres!

Mouse works hard on his truck, and has all the specialised equipment, including a fireproof suit, safety helmet and safety harness.

The race is about to begin! Bang! the starter pistol fires and he's off! Grrrowl! goes the monster engine. Roar! goes the massive tyres as they crush a line-up of damaged cars.

This is monster-sized action, personified!

Using a string of mouth-pleasing onomatopoeia and cute-as-pie illustrations, this book for the younger set is a really nice blend of gruff, blokey stuff and childlike charm. The very young will love feeling 'all grown up' with this more sophisticated theme, and action-lovers, of course, will be wide-eyed.

A diagram at the end of the book outlining the various parts of the Monster Truck will also delight kids.

Other books in the series, with equal amounts of action and information, include Ambulance in Action, Police Car on Patrol, and Dumper Truck Dash.
