Review: Of Course You Can Meet the Queen!

A little girl dreams of meeting the Queen. Her friends at school tell her it will never happen, but her Dad has a brainwave. What if they visit Buckingham Palace every weekend and just wait at the gates from sunrise to sunset? Surely the Queen will notice them and invite them in for a chat.

Of Course You Can Meet the Queen! is a lovely story about a father encouraging his daughter to dream big and have some fun along the way. While the little girl does get to chat with the Queen by the end of the book, I think the time she spent with her father at the gates of Buckingham Palace would ultimately be what she treasured the most.

This simple story about a father and daughter (and the Queen too, of course) is a nice feel-good book for children sure to spark discussions about their own ‘big’ dreams.

50% of all profits from the sale of the edition reviewed will be donated to the Railway Children charity, an international charity fighting to provide support and intervention for children living on the streets.
