Review: Truly Tan Freaked

Tan is my new best friend. She’s smart and funny and a total scaredy cat but that doesn’t stop her from being brave. And she loves a challenge. Tan overcomes all obstacles with her own special brand of persistence, gathering clues and interesting words as she goes. She investigates and hypothesises but the biggest reason I have for loving Tan is that she makes me laugh. A lot.

In Truly Tan Freaked, Tan’s sister Rose (disguised as a fortune teller) predicts that a tall dark stranger will come into Tan’s life. All of Rose’s other prophecies came true, so why shouldn’t this one? There’s a spooky machinery shed that goes tik tik tik when it’s thinking, and the local second hand dealers who are acting suspiciously, but neither are what you could call tall or dark.

Get ready for a giggle and a bit of a fright as Tan and her friends try to solve the mystery of the tall dark stranger, but be warned: answers lead to more questions as the mystery deepens.

Truly Tan Freaked is the first Truly Tan tale I’ve read but I can’t wait to get hold of the others.
