Review: I'm a Hungry Dinosaur

Oh, but this little dinosaur is hungry! So hungry, in fact, that he (or she) decides to bake a cake. And this little dinosaur turns out to be quite a good cook.

First, there's a lot of shaking and stirring. Then there's some pouring and pressing down — very important to get the hands right in the cake tin for this stage!

Next, we have to carefully slide the cake tin into the oven, making sure we pour quite a bit of the mixture over the kitchen floor in the process. Finally, the cake is cooked and it's time for decoration. Icing, sprinkles — you can never have too many.

And then, the big moment — eating a slice! Or two … or three … Hmmm, maybe it's time to bake another cake!

This is a wonderful picture book for the very young. With rounded corners, a durable hardcover, and card pages, it's fortunately also going to stand up to the many readings it's bound to get. The illustrations are divine, and look as if they've been partially painted in cocoa and flour! And the big bold colourful letters will attract little eyes and soon have them following the words.

Deliciously fun!
