Review: Shrink & Link Jewelry

Have you ever used shrink plastic? It’s fun and easy:

  1. Create a design on the shrink plastic (draw, colour, stamp etc)
  2. Cut out the shape
  3. Shrink it (by baking it in the oven for a couple of minutes)
Shrinking your plastic design means it becomes small enough to be transformed into jewelry or something similar, with shrunk shapes about one third their original size.

Shrink & Link Jewelry is a kit in the Klutz range and comes complete with five sheets of shrink plastic, a shaping tool and various other bits and pieces to decorate and create unique pieces. The Shrink & Link Jewelry book that comes with the kit has all the instructions, tips on how to make best use of the materials, and many (50+) shapes, patterns and objects to trace and use in your creations.

Shrink & Link Jewelry is really just a starting point. There are other applications besides jewelry, and once the book explains the process and you understand what to do, only your imagination (and the amount of shrink plastic) is the limit.
