Review: Dog House and Basket Cat

Up-and-coming illustrator, Katie Abey says most of her work ‘features puns and crazy animals from my brain’. Her two new releases, Dog House and Basket Cat, are no exceptions.

A great introduction to domestic animals and their individual habitats, both books have a simple, short narrative with bright, bold and textured illustrations making them ideal for the very young.

In Dog House, Dog is looking for a house. He searches the yard, asking various animals along the way, “Do I live here?”  Little children will love to answer Dog’s questions and help him find his very own home.

In Basket Cat, Cat loves baskets of every shape, colour and size; big baskets, small baskets, hanging baskets and even the washing basket. But all Basket Cat wants, is a basket of her very own.

Humorous and delightful, these endearing, extra sturdy board books are ideal for young hands to hold and little ones to ‘drool’ over.
