Review: Pig the Elf

Pig the Pug returns in a fantastic Christmas adventure that will have kids of all ages laughing out loud (and the adults too)! Many kids will already be familiar with Pig’s hilarious antics, and this story will definitely not disappoint fans!

Christmas eve has arrived and Pig can’t contain his excitement at the prospect of all the presents Santa is going to bring him! Earnest Trevor, writes his polite Christmas letter to Santa and dutifully puts himself to bed early, whilst naughty Pig writes a long list of Christmas demands and stays up late so he can get all the presents!

The rhyming text is fast-paced and fun, and wonderfully conveys Pig’s outrageously cheeky personality. The fabulous Illustrations are animated and funny and you can’t possibly keep a straight face when taking in Pig’s over the top expressions on every page. Blabey has cleverly focussed the colour palette around reds and greens in this one to really bring out the Christmas feel.

Back to Pig, staying up late and hiding behind the tree…

Santa finally arrives! But naughty Pig is not satisfied with his haul and tries to confront Santa! And (this is the bit where the kids will be in hysterics)… wait for it… Pig nips ‘poor old Santa’s big rosy red bum!’. Santa then makes a run for it with Pig firmly fastened to his behind!

Will Santa get away? Will Pig get his presents? Go out and grab yourself a copy of this riotous Christmas adventure to find out!

Merry Christmas to all our wonderful Kid’s Book Review readers!
