Announcement: New Junior Reviewer

Today, we welcome another new member into our KBR family, Miss Jessica McConville.

Along with Aria, Jessica is part our team of enthusiastic junior reporters who aim to share the books that excite them most, the ones they just can't put down and can't wait to tell the world about. Jessica joins us today in this special edition of 12 Curly Questions. Here's what she has to say.

Hi, my name is Jessica. I was born at Pindara Hospital on the 13th of January 2007. My middle name is Kate. My Dad is from New Zealand and my Mum is from England.

My hobbies are: roller blading, singing, dancing, acting, gymnastics, reading and, last but not least, writing!

1. Tell us something hardly anyone knows about you.
I raised $800 for MS in the 5.7km at Gold Coast Airport Marathon run this year. My time was 30 minutes.
2. What is your nickname?
I don’t really have a nickname, but my friends call me JJ or Jess.
3. What is your greatest fear?
Being attacked by a shark while I am swimming in the ocean.
4. Describe your writing style in ten words.
Explosive beginnings, short story narrative, exciting, detailed, action packed, funny.
5. Tell us five positive words that describe you as a writer.
Enthusiastic! Funny! Descriptive! Inspired! Excited!
6. What book character would you be, and why?
Hermione from Harry Potter because she is really good at magic and she is always intrigued to learn new things. Also, because she doesn’t care what people think of her even though Draco Malfoy calls her a Mud Blood to insult her.
7. If you could time travel, what year would you go to and why?
I would go back to 1914 to save Archduke Ferdinand from dying so that there would have never been a world war 1 or 2.
8. What would your ten-year-old self say to you now?
As I am almost eleven I say to myself: ‘stop worrying about what people think.’
9. Who is your greatest influence?
My greatest influence in sport is my Dad. My greatest influence in learning and studying is my Mum.
10. What/who made you start writing?
Dimity Powell because she inspired me to follow my dream of publishing books.
11. What is your favourite word and why?
Shenanigans because it sounds funny and it means mischief.
12. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be?
The Name of this Book is Secret from the secret series written by Pseudonymous Bosch.
