Review: How Many Kisses?

Looking for a counting book that’s special and different? How Many Kisses? delivers.

It has everything you’d expect in a counting book.

There are large, bold numbers that stand out on the page, and a visual representation of each number to get some counting practice in.

The numbers span from one to 10 (with extras at the end for special counting fun), and the text is simple so as not to distract from the purpose of the book.

But How Many Kisses? goes beyond the usual things you'd expect in a counting book. Author/illustrator Delphine Chedru has infused a special uniqueness into the story. It makes the book super engaging, which makes the reading experience super fun.

How? Well, everything to be counted in this book is a kiss. Two kisses for the dog, three kisses for the flowers, four kisses for the birds. And the book invites you to blow the kisses to the characters as you count, creating a fun and special game to play with children.

I read this book to my two-year-old daughter, and she delighted in blowing kisses as we turned each page. We read the numbers, counted the dots and blew our kisses to the pages as we laughed and smiled.

With bright, bold colours and simple, fun illustrations throughout, How Many Kisses? is a fantastic book for young ones starting to learn their numbers. It will keep them engaged, get them giggling and teach them how to count.
