Review: Selma

Selma is a simple story in a small package. It's about living a simple, happy life.

Selma is the central character in the story, and she is a sheep.

Selma spends her days eating, playing with her children, exercising, and chatting to friends.

She wouldn't change anything. Selma has the right idea!

Is there any need to pack our days full of activities? A simple life just might be the best way to a happy life.

Author and illustrator Jutta Bauer's story is told with as few words as possible, and simple watercolour and ink pictures.

The sheep (who have appealing expressions) and landscape are repeated in various guises as the tale progresses (different colours, perspectives etc).

Selma has been translated into eleven languages and described as a parable, thought-provoking, funny and lively.

Selma is a sweet story with a valuable message. A lovely little gift book for all ages.
