Review: Supertato Veggies Assemble

Supertato Veggies Assemble is the second book in the hilarious Supertato series by dynamic duo, Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet.

All is quiet in the supermarket one night, that is until the Evil Pea switches off the freezers and causes total chaos. From a swarm of evil peas to a terrified pear and a melting ice-cream, things are looking grim. Can Supertato save the day? Can he do it alone? An amusing and energetic storyline unravels.

The bright and bold digital illustrations work perfectly with the story and add funny details to each page. With so many hilarious scenes it’s hard to pick a favourite, but a superhero corncob kicking peas into a tub of honey is one that springs to mind.

Dramatic anticipation combined with a well known but unlikely superhero environment make this story fun to read aloud with children. A fast-paced story which could easily lead onto Supertato versus Evil Pea role play.

Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet have completed many books together including Barry Fish Fingers, No-Bot the Robot with No Bottom, Supertato Run Veggies Run, and other titles in the Supertato series.
