Review: Human Body: A Children's Encyclopedia

Did you know your hands contain more than a quarter of your body’s 206 bones, that every day your body loses at least two litres of water, that you can’t cough, sneeze, yawn, hiccup or laugh when you’re dreaming?

Discover all about the human body in Human Body: A Children’s Encyclopedia.

Divided into 12 sections from body basics to mind and personality, you’ll find fascinating and detailed facts about everything to do with every part of your body.

Learn about your bones and muscles, disease defences, waste disposal, life cycle, super senses and so much more.

This is a fantastic non-fiction book for kids (and anyone interested in learning about the human body). Packed with amazing illustrations, photographs and diagrams, every page is an adventure.

As you flip through the book, I guarantee the pictures will draw your eye, pulling you in to explore the details, and bite-sized text with clear headings and subheadings makes everything easy to navigate.

And I love that the book goes deep. It doesn’t just state facts; it explores the why and how. It looks deep inside the human body (with lots of accompanying and detailed pictures) and explains the amazing abilities of each part of us, how everything connects and what it all means.

It’s also been designed for kids. The information is simple and easy to understand, and lots of white space on the pages means your journey through the book isn’t overwhelming or intimidating. There are fast facts, interesting case studies, fascinating historical facts and 'closer look' sections throughout, spreading the information across the pages in different and engaging ways.

It's a fantastic book to flip through and browse the subjects that catch your interest, but with detailed contents and index sections, it's also easy to look up the information you need if you're in research mode.

Perfect for schools but equally as perfect for homes, Human Body: A Children’s Encyclopedia is a superb book for curious kids.
