Junior Review: The Floods: Neighbours

The Floods is a thrilling series by Colin Thompson. It is about a family of witches and wizards. No, these witches and wizards are not like Harry Potter. They are a different kind.

Their names are: Mordonna (mum), Nerlin (father), Valla (22, the eldest child), Satenella (17 and a talking dog. She was born a dog), Melinmary (16 and if you touch her she will zap you), Winchflat (14 and the smartest person in the whole universe), Morbid and Silent (Identical twins who have been 11 for three years!) and last but not least Betty (10. She looks normal compared to her siblings).

You would not want to mess with the Floods, but their neighbours obviously do not know that.

The Floods have had enough of their neighbours shouting and swearing every day, so they decide to put an end to the neighbours’ endless carelessness. What do they do you ask? Well you will have to read the book to get that information.

I love Colin Thompson’s book The Floods. He is a funny, descriptive author.

My favourite part of The Floods: Neighbours is the antics they get up to. My favourite character in The Floods would be Winchflat, not just because he looks creepy but because he is funny and smart.
