Review: Look, Baby!

I love a beautiful baby book that makes you say ‘yes!’ when you finish it.

Look, Baby! is that book.

It’s the perfect baby book, written just for the littlest of littlies. But it's a book that engages the whole family as you read it.

Look, Baby! explores nature, animals, fun things for baby  (like bubbles!) and family.

It starts with ‘hey, baby, look at the…’, and through a lovely die cut in the middle of the page, you’ll get a sneak peek at what baby can see.

Turn the page and you’ll see what baby is looking at, with a lovely little rhyme to go with it.

Hey, baby,

Look at the… tree.

Shiver-quiver leaves that shade you and me.

Like all good books for baby, the format is repetitive, so the story follows on in the same manner as different babies explore their new world. It’s lovely and sweet, and it's very engaging for little ones.

Renee Treml’s illustrations are a perfect match for Janeen Brian’s beautiful text. Soft colours and lines. Pastels and smiles. It’s delight in paper form and the perfect gift for new little bundles of joy in your life.

And when you reach the end, there’s a special page with pictures of the little things (a shell, a ball, a dog) featured in the book. Readers are invited to go back and spot them. So much fun for kids.

I adore this book. I can’t wait to gift it to all the new babies in my life.
