Review: Easter Cuddle

Two talented creators team up again for this Easter book which will delight tiny readers, and would make a superb gift for a newly arrived little human. The Easter Bunny at our house always delivered a new book as well as chocolate, so if that’s also a tradition for you, this is a perfect choice.

In the same style as their previous two titles in this ‘series’ Mummy Cuddle and Daddy Cuddle, the story line is simple, the text is sweet and the short sentences are exactly right for those tiny ears you want to nibble gently.

Early Easter morning, small bunnies - like excited children everywhere - are up early, out hunting for Easter eggs. Where will they find them? In the [v]eggie patch? Maybe under the hedge? In the bird bath (or is that a bird’s egg?) or perhaps in the wheelbarrow?

These little rabbits are on a gorgeous romp as they excitedly collect a rainbow of eggs in their baskets, just in time before their parents appear. And then it’s time for an Easter picnic with book and a picnic basket packed with goodies (no doubt followed up by a chocolate feast).

Easter bliss.
Easter kiss.
Easter snuggle.
Easter cuddle.

Kate Maye’s superbly ‘less is more’ text partnered with Sara Acton’s delicate and expressive illustrations is a sure-fire winner each and every time.
