Review: Slinky Malinki's Christmas Crackers

I first fell in love with Lynley Dodd's books back in the Hairy Maclary days - and have to say - I still can't get enough.

No one, but no one, does rhyme like Dodd. Her work is not only infallible, it's utterly gorgeous - rollicking, rolling, raucous and totally addictive... I own and will futurely own every single one of her books.

In Slinky Malinki's Christmas Crackers, Dodd cleverly brings back one of her most favouritist characters - naughty puss Slinky Malinki - and this time, our friend is tumbling with a glittering Christmas tree.

I mean, what cat could resist? There's tinsel to tackle and baubles to bat - it's just so irresistable, even readers will want to scratch through the tree branches alongside old Slinky.

Dodd's stories are always so simple, so rhythmic, so action-packed and fun... And the illustrations are an equally joyful romp. I'm sure the author has as much fun creating her books as we all do reading them... and will for many years to come.
