There are so many gross and feral things in this book. Consider it Jackass in book form in terms of grossness.
The boys junior fiction market is such a hard one to crack but this book will appeal to boys in a big bad gross-out way.
Andy and Danny are up to their usual mischief but this time it’s turned up all the way to DISGUSTING!
• Can you name 101 really disgusting things? How about a whole cup of spit? blerg Or a really big fat slimy slug doing a striptease?
• Do you have a vegetable that you HATE. I mean despise and truly loath? I mean really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really, really hate? Ah yes. Andy hates brussell sprouts too.
• How many excuses can you make to stay up and not go to bed? Andy supplies footnotes!
• How about a choose your own baking adventure that all have eerily similar and gruesome endings?
• There is the illustrated comic book style story about the happy two little brown blobs that visit Andy during bath time
• The story about being SHUT UP with your family for the holidays
• Poor Sooty the dog cops it when the boys decide to have fun with a pup (and other various things)
• For theatre lovers there is the critically acclaimed play for dead flies in three acts – Deadflyella
• Last but not least we have the story of the very stupid boy and the very big slug. Can Andy save the world and get the girl?
Whilst I never discriminate between sexes, I just can't go past saying how amazing Andy Griffith’s books are to encourage boys to read.
