Review: The Pout-Pout Fish

Repetition.
Repetition.
Repetition.

Kids love to join in with reading and the easiest way for them to get involved, is through repetition.

I am a sucker for a picture book that is written in rhyme. Words with a rhythm and beat. They are so fun to read a-loud.

Chuck in a pout-pout fish with a pout-pout face who spreads the dreary-wearies all over the place, and you have a fun bedtime read.

Our pouty fish friend feels doomed to be gloomy for the rest of his days. Nothing can get him out of his mood. It’s just the way he is.

Blub.
Bluuuub.
Bluuuuub.

No matter what anyone says he seems destined to be glum until … a silvery fish comes along and plants a kiss upon his pout!

His world, like his frown, is turned upside down. He is no longer a pout-pout fish but he is a kiss-kiss fish, with a kiss-kiss face for spreading the cheery-cheeries all over the place!

This is such a sweet story. I just adored it.

The Beatles were right all you need is love!
