Review: New York City

A board book of NYC? Yes, please. But this book is not just for toddlers--it's a visual, almost-3D delight for the post-toddler set, too.

Featuring a hard cover and thick card pages, each stunning, graphic art scene unfolds into a series of skyline cutouts, revealing a little bit of the next scene behind it. This has a wonderfully layered effect that makes you feel as though you are standing right at the end of the Brooklyn Bridge, peeking back into Manhattan.

Each double page spread features as short text on the facts behind such iconic sites as Grand Central Station, Times Square and Central Park.

A stunningly-produced book, this is a joy to read through and experience. Yes, it was a heart-thumper for me. Readers of all ages will adore it.
