Review: Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer (Magnus Chase #1)

Magnus Chase and the Sword of Summer is an adventure story by Rick Riordan, the author of the Percy Jackson series. It is the first book in this new series. The story is based on the idea of Norse Gods in the modern world.

Magnus Chase, a homeless teenager, thinks his life is bad enough, but when he sees his uncle and cousin Annabeth looking for him, and someone supposedly from Nordic Myths, he knows that his life is about to get a whole lot worse.

I liked that the book teaches readers many things about Nordic mythology. The characters were not only adventurous, but were hilariously funny and always chose the most interesting way to do things.

I recommend you read this series, along with Rick Riordan's other books, such as the Heroes of Olympus series or his Ancient Egyptian Kane Chronicles series.

Review by Matthew, age 11.
