Review: How To Look After Your Dinosaur

Have your kids ever asked for a pet dinosaur? Maybe you tried to convince them a dinosaur is hard work and they’d be better off with a fish! Did it work?

Well, if it didn’t, How to Look After Your Dinosaur is the book for you.

Written as advice to all new dinosaur owners, author/illustrator Jason Cockcroft injects mountains of comedy into this quirky picture book.

The story takes you through everything you need to know about caring for a newly hatched dinosaur, from how to feed them and clean up after little (or big) accidents to how to deal with naps and bedtime.

This book is fresh, different and fun, and I loved the hilarious similarities between raising dinosaurs and raising humans all parents are sure to spot.

The illustrations are bright and colourful, and the cheeky green dinosaur is just gorgeous. With detailed scenes on every page for kids to explore, this is a picture book that pulls you in with awesome artwork and a beautiful visual narrative to accompany the text.

This would be a great story for any family thinking about getting a pet (dinosaur or otherwise) or anyone who loves dinosaurs. It’s a fun, funny and quirky story, but it also sends a wonderful message about caring for others.
