This book is packed with information, and while it’s been fantastically designed for kids who are learning this stuff for the first time, it’s a book for anyone and everyone looking for a little help or a reminder of the basics.
At the beginning, you’ll find a great overview of how to use the book, so you’ll know what to expect and where to look for information as you read.
There are top tips, helpful rhymes, definitions and examples galore to watch out for.
And I really do mean examples galore.
That’s one of the really cool things about this guide. The examples are really, really clear. Each example is accompanied by a picture, there is always more than one and the incorrect way to do things is also included, so the kids will learn both the right and the wrong way, supporting their understanding of what can be rather tricky concepts.
The book is separated into three parts: Parts of Speech, Sentences, Phrases and Clauses and Punctuation. A detailed contents page at the front allows you to look up exactly what you need and there’s also a fantastic glossary and index at the back.
The book has also been very well designed, with lots of white space, limited and large text on every page and stacks of pictures. This makes the book very easy to read and less overwhelming.
If the kids are interested in words and writing and/or they are starting to learn about grammar and punctuation at school, this is a fantastic guide to help them gain a strong understanding of the basics.
Visual Guide to Grammar and Punctuation is a fantastic book to add to your home or classroom library.
