Review: Dinosaur Whack! / Dinosaur Whizz!

Dinosaurs and rhyme are a special combination in Dinosaur Whack! and Dinosaur Whizz!

These books are part of a new eight-book series called The World of Dinosaur Roar! which is inspired by the popular picture book by Paul Stickland and Henrietta Stickland, in association with the UK's Natural History Museum.

Dinosaur Whack! and Dinosaur Whizz! are created by Jeanne Willis and Peter Curtis, and feature Stegosaurus and Coelophysis, along with other dinosaur friends including Iguanodon, Deinonychus, and Diplodocus.

You don't need to worry about the dinosaur names being difficult to get your tongue around, because the inside cover includes a pronunciation guide.

Dinosaur Whack is clumsy and manages to scare away her friends, accidentally knocking and bopping and bumping them with her tail.

Dinosaur Whizz is speedy, always active and moving. It frustrates her friends until Whizz is able to distract a much larger dinosaur from snapping them up for lunch.

At the back of each book there are a few fun facts about the dinosaur who features as the central character in the story.

This series is smartly designed for frequent and robust use by young children. The cartoon-like characters are appealing, brightly coloured, and fairly leap off the page.

A must have for tiny dinosaur fans!

Be sure to visit The World of Dinosaur Roar! website for more dinosaur facts, and downloadable dinosaur activities including colouring in, dot to dot, a matching game, spot the difference, and posters.
