Review: I Feel the World

Sometimes we feel big feelings. Sometimes those feelings are big and joyful and sometimes those feelings are big and scary. But that’s okay. All feelings are okay.

Sometimes feelings work so hard, protecting like a bodyguard.

Feelings sometimes make me dance. They make me wear my fancy pants!

In I feel the world, we follow a little bear friend as they experience feelings of all sizes, triggered from both good and bad times. But when those feelings get too much for little bear, it’s time to shut out the world for a while, take some breaths and let the feelings pass.

Delivered in beautiful rhyme, this picture book is a gorgeous exploration of feelings and how to navigate them. Add colourful, funky illustrations and it takes a big subject that could be heavy and complicated and makes the whole thing light and easy for kids to engage with.

At the back of the book there are loads of tips for kids to deal with tricky feelings and some great things to remember when navigating them, like remembering that feelings don’t have to control you.

A beautiful collaboration between author Zanni Louise and clinical psychologist Dr Ameika Johnson, lovingly illustrated by Nia Gould, this book will help kids as they learn to navigate their feelings.
